Meeting with Mohamed Benzaoui, Full Stack Developer
Can you introduce yourself?
My name is Mohamed, I'm 25 years old. I have been a full stack developer for 2 years. I love discovering new dishes and mountain biking.
Why did you decide to join Modjo?
Formerly in a large company, I wanted to join an ambitious start-up that develops its own product with new technical challenges. Modjo fits all these criteria perfectly. I was immediately impressed by the product!
What is it like to work at Modjo on a daily basis?
It's intense in the best sense of the word! I learn new things every day. It's a real pleasure to work with caring and attentive colleagues: it makes the work easier.
What is a Full Stack Developer?
The developer, or dev' for short, is in charge of implementing a system or application: website, software, mobile app, etc. He or she translates a business need into lines of code. They translate a business need into lines of code.
At Modjo, all developers are full stack, meaning that we work on both the visible part - our web app and our note-taking desktop application - and the invisible part - the API and devOps.
The dev' works closely with the product team. Developing is not just about releasing lines of code, it is about thinking about a problem and then responding to it by designing a technical solution.
You need to ensure that your code is reliable, follows good practice and above all is tested to provide the best user experience for your customers.
What would you say to a candidate to convince them to join Modjo?
Apply now! You won't regret it! If you don't apply, you risk missing out on a great adventure with an enthusiastic and ambitious team that is constantly striving to outdo itself.
There are many challenges and you are welcome to help us overcome them.
How does one become a Dev'?
There are several ways to become a developer.
The most classic route is to go to a computer science school or to follow a computer science course at university. There you will learn all the technical basics needed to be a developer.
But to be a very good dev, you have to have a lot of curiosity, a good capacity for abstraction and simply love what you do.
It is increasingly common for people to change jobs to become computer scientists.
For this, online or in-school training can be taken but a great deal of effort is required in parallel and again, as with being a good dev, the same qualities are required.
Your best memory at Modjo?
The first fundraising and the subsequent move to the new offices is definitely a (very) good memory.
I am convinced that every day spent in Modjo contributes to filling my memory book. From time to time, I take a look in the rear-view mirror and see how Modjo is growing like crazy! It's not about to stop.
Recently we had a seminar. I had a great time!
Your biggest victory?
My victories are almost daily: it's every feature that goes into production! As a developer, it is a great pride to see a product that we have built (and sometimes with the help of StackOverflow) satisfy our customers.
I'm going back to work on my next victory :)
